Anteprima GP Canton d’Argovie 2017

Il GP Canton d’Argovie è una corsa in linea in territorio elvetico che funge da tradizionale antipasto del Giro di Svizzera. L’edizione 2017, la numero 54, è in programma giovedì 8 giugno sulle strade dell’omonimo cantone elvetico. Nata nel 1964 e attualmente classificata 1.HC all’interno del’Uci Europe Tour, vanta nell’albo d’oro tanti successi italiani: Marino Basso, Giacinto Santambrogio, Simone Fraccaro, Giuseppe Saronni, Paolo Rosola, Gianni Bugno, Fabrizio Guidi, Michele Bartoli, Matteo Tosatto e Giacomo Nizzolo, il campione uscente.

Siamo nella Svizzera settentrionale, nel cantone germanofono bagnato dal fiume Aar (da cui prende il nome il capoluogo Aarau). La prova ciclistica è costituita da un circuito di 18.87 km da ripetere 10 volte, con partenza ed arrivo a Gippingen. Il tracciato si presenta mosso nella prima parte, quando si attraversa un falsopiano; in seguito la strada è perlopiù in leggera discesa, ad eccezione di un nuovo strappo a Reuenthal e degli ultimi 200 metri ancora leggermente all’insù. STARTLIST Ricchissima oltre ogni aspettativa la startlist del GP d’Argovia 2017. Vi prendono parte 9 WorldTour (Astana, Dimension Data, Trek-Segafredo, Bmc Racing Team, Bahrain-Merida, Orica-Scott, Katusha-Alpecin, UAE Team Emirates, Bora-Hansgrohe), 6 Professional (SportVlaanderen-Baloise, Wanty-Groupe Gobert, Gazprom-RusVelo, Delko Marseille Provence KTM, Androni-Sidermec, Nippo-Vini Fantini), 2 Continental (Roth-Akros, Team Voralberg) e la nazionale svizzera.

Forfait dell’ultimo  minuto per il campione uscente Giacomo Nizzolo (Trek-Segafredo), che sta provando a recuperare da un Giro d’Italia corso con una condizione fisica alquanto deficitaria e mira a trovare la gamba in vista del campionato italiano in cui sarà chiamato a difendere il titolo. In casa Italia, assente il brianzolo, vanno citati Sacha Modolo e Valerio Conti (UAE Team Emirates), Francesco Gavazzi (Androni-Sidermec), Marco Canola e Iuri Filosi (Nippo-Vini Fantini), Moreno Moser e Oscar Gatto (Astana), Enrico Gasparotto (Bahrain-Merida).

Ma siamo in Svizzera e chi se non Michael Albasini (Orica-Scott) parte con i gradi di favorito numero uno per la vittoria? Altri probabili contendenti sono John Degenkolb (Trek-Segafredo), Alberto Rui Costa (UAE Team Emirates), Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe), Silvain Dillier (Bmc), Marco Haller (Katusha-Alpecin), Sergey Lagutin (Gazprom-RusVelo).
