Anteprima Tour de l’Ain 2017

Si svolgerà dal 9 al 13 agosto il Tour de l’Ain 2017, 29^ edizione della corsa a tappe (precedentemente nota come Prix de l’Amitié) classificata 2.1 di scena nell’omonimo dipartimento francese. Di Christian Gasperoni nel 1998 l’unico successo azzurro, dell’olandese Sam Oomen l’ultimo titolo.

 Dipartimento francese situato nella regione Rodano-Alpi, l’Ain è protagonista di questa cinque giorni di corsa che anno dopo anno accresce il suo valore. Ad aprire la kermesse, un cronoprologo di 3.8 km a Bourg en Bresse, a cui seguono le quattro frazioni in linea. Subito insidiosa la prima tappa, col traguardo posto in cima allo strappetto di Trevoux che potrebbe scremare il gruppo. Decisamente per velocisti quella successiva, in attesa delle due ultime giornate che decideranno la classifica generale.

La penultima, nella fattispecie, va da Lagnieu a Oyonnax e prevede la scalata a cinque Gran Premi della Montagna: i prima categoria della Cote d’Ordonnaz, del Col de Ballon e Col de Berthiand, il seconda categoria del Col de Saint-Albain e l’ultimo, il terza categoria della Cote de Ceyssat, la cui cima è a soli quattro chilometri al traguardo. Poi l’ultima tappa, da Lelex a Culoz, contraddistinta dalle scalate ai prima categoria della Cote de Champfromier e del Col de Berentin e soprattutto al Col du Grand Colombier, 12 km al 6.8% di pendenza media (e punte al 14%) già affrontati all’ultimo Tour de France. Vetta a venti chilometri alla conclusione.

 Sono 17 le squadre che compongono la startlist del Tour de l’Ain 2017: 3 WorldTour (Ag2R La Mondiale, FDJ e LottoNL-Jumbo); 6 Professional (Cofidis, Direct Energie, Delko Marseille, Fortuneo-Oscaro, Wanty-Groupe Gobert, Androni-Sidermec); 6 Professional (Armee de Terre, HP BTP-Auber 93, Roubaix Lille Metropole, Astana City, Roth-Akros, Sunweb DT); nazionali di Francia e Germania.

Assente il campione uscente Sam Oomen, e con lui la sua squadra, il dorsale numero uno è sulle spalle di Thibaut Pinot (FDJ), di nuovo sulla strada dopo il buon Giro e un Tour in cui ha pagato gli sforzi compiuti in Italia. Altri nomi altisonanti sono quelli di Steven Kruijswijk (LottoNL-Jumbo) e Alexander Geniez (Ag2r La Mondiale), mentre tra le ruote veloci spicca Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis). I colori italiani saranno sostenuti dalla Androni-Sidermec, al via con Francesco Gavazzi, Andrea Palini, Marco Benfatto, Mattia Cattaneo e il colombiano Rodolfo Torres. C’è anche Danilo Napolitano della Wanty-Groupe Gobert.
