Anteprima Tour de Limousin 2017

Dal 15 al 18 agosto è tempo di Tour de Limousin 2017, breve gara a tappe francese valida per l’Uci Europe Tour, categoria 2.1. Nata nel 1968, vanta nell’albo d’oro tre successi azzurri: Massimiliano Lelli nel 2003, Mauro Finetto nel 2014 e Sonny Colbrelli nel 2015. Il campione uscente è lo statunitense Joey Rosskopf.

 Ci troviamo nel Limosino, antica regione della Francia ubicata sul Massiccio centrale, il cui capoluogo è Limoges: dal 2016 tale distretto è confluito nella regione Aquitania-Limosino-Poitou-Charentes. La quattro giorni di gare è costituita da percorsi mossi, ma nessuno particolarmente selettivo: atleti dotati di spunto veloce, ma al tempo stesso in grado di resistere sugli strappi, possono portare a casa la classifica generale.

Sarà assente il campione uscente Joey Rosskopf, in quanto la sua squadra, la Bmc, non prenderà parte alla corsa. Con il dorsale numero uno c’è un italiano, Francesco Gavazzi, alla guida di una competitiva Androni-Sidermec con la quale avrà tutte le carte in regola per ben figurare, essendo i percorsi ben adatti all’esperto atleta lombardo. In gara anche la Bardiani-Csf, che schiererà Giulio Ciccone e Simone Sterbini, reduci da una doppietta nella tappa regina del Tour of Utah, nonché Vincenzo Albanese. Ed infine la Wilier-Selle Italia, che manda in strada i tre leader Filippo Pozzato, Jakub Mareczko e Manuel Belletti.

Altri italiani di peso anche nelle altre formazioni, come Mauro Finetto della Delko Marseille e Danilo Napolitano della Wanty-Groupe Gobert. Tra i corridori stranieri, invece, da tenere d’occhio Alexis Vuillermoz (Ag2R La Mondiale); David Gaudu e Ignatas Konovalovas (FDJ); Mathieu Van Der Poel (Beobank-Corendon); Julien Simon (Cofidis); Lilian Calmejane e Bryan Coquard (Direct Energie).
