Anteprima Tour of Guangxi 2018

Dodici mesi dopo aver fatto il suo ingresso nel calendario ciclistico internazionale dalla porta principale chiamata WorldTour, il Tour of Guangxi arriva alla seconda edizione, in programma tra il 16 e il 21 ottobre. Il campione uscente è il belga Tim Wellens.

 Ci troviamo a Guangxi, regione autonoma della Cina conosciuta fino al secolo scorso con il nome di Yungning. Le sei tappe in programma (tutte dal basso chilometraggio eccetto la penultima superiore ai 200 km) propongono percorsi tutt’altro che interessanti, essendo stati disegnati perlopiù su strade piatte.

Fa eccezione la quinta frazione terminante sullo strappo di Mashan Nongla: su quest’arrivo, perlomeno, è facile prevedere della selezione, come accaduto un anno fa con il successo di Wellens. Poco da dire sulle altre giornate, che presentano qualche strappetto disseminato qua e là, che non impensierisce i più. In basso la planimetria generale e tutte le altimetrie. Tappa 1 – 16 October : Beihai, 107.40 km
Tappa 2 – 17 October : Beihai – Qinzhou, 145.20 km
Tappa 3 – 18 October : Nanning, 125.40 km
Tappa 4 – 19 October : Nanning – Mashan Nongla Scenic Spot, 152.20 km
Tappa 5 – 20 October : Liuzhou – Guilin, 212.20 km
Tappa 6 – 21 October : Guilin, 169.00 km

 Prenderanno parte alla corsa semplicemente i 18 team WorldTour ammessi di diritto. Non ci sarà il vincitore dello scorso anno, per cui la lotta è apertissima, tanto da includere un vasto gruppo di corridori. Citiamo, perciò, i possibili contendenti per le volate: Dylan Groenewegen (LottoNL-Jumbo), Arnaud Démare (Groupama-FDJ), Matteo Trentin (Mitchelton-Scott), Pascal Ackermann (Bora-Hansgrohe), Ben Swift (UAE team Emirates). In gara anche Fabio Aru (UAE) per chiudere in modo dignitoso la stagione.
