Anteprima Giro di Svizzera 2021: percorso, startlist, guida tv

Dopo un anno di assenza causa pandemia, torna dal 6 al 13 giugno 2021 il Giro di Svizzera, l’ultimo grande appuntamento WorldTour prima del Tour de France.

Nato nel 1933 e per lungo tempo considerato la terza corsa a tappe per importanza dopo Giro e Tour, vanta nell’albo d’oro tredici successi italiani: da Giovanni Valetti e Gino Bartali ante-guerra fino a Francesco Casagrande, primo nel 1999. A vincere la classifica generale nel 2018 fu l’australiano Richie Porte, mentre l’ultimo vincitore è stato Egan Bernal.

 Eurosport Player trasmetterà in diretta la gara dalle ore 15.40.

 Nove giornate in programma all’interno del territorio della confederazione elvetica. Il percorso ricalca quasi interamente quella che avrebbe dovuto essere l’edizione dello scorso anno, poi non disputata.

Si comincia con una cronometro individuale di 10.9 km a Frauenfeld, così come contro il tempo è la penultima tappa, stavolta di 23.2 km. In mezzo, nessuna frazione dall’esito banale, bensì tutte giornate mosse.

Spiccano, poi, due frazioni impegnative: il quinto giorno a Sedrun (arrivo in salita) e l’ultimo ad Andermatt. In entrambi i casi, bisognerà scalare il Passo del San Gottardo e il Passo del Lucomagno.

A comporre la startlist del Tour de Suisse 2021 sono le 19 squadre WorldTour affiancate dalle 3 Professional Alpecin-Fenix, Rally Cycling e Total Direct Energie. Infine, una selezione della nazionale svizzera.

Tra chi è reduce dal recente Giro d’Italia – vedi l’ultimo vincitore Egan Bernal – chi sta disputando il Delfinato e chi preferisce allenarsi sulle strade di casa – vedi corridori sloveni come Tadej Pogacar – la corsa, quest’anno, appare meno ricca di star, che comunque non mancano.

Tra i nomi di rilievo ricordiamo Jakub Fuglsang (Astana-PremierTech), il campione del mondo Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step), Mathieu Van Der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix), Richard Carapaz e Adam Yates (Ineos-Grenadiers), Marc Hirschi (UAE Team Emirates) e soprattutto Tom Dumoulin, al rientro dopo un periodo di pausa: per l’olandese, nel mirino ci sono i Giochi Olimpici di Tokyo 2020.
