Presentazione Arctic Race of Norway 2015

Saranno gli scenari mozzafiato del Circolo Polare Artico a fare da sfondo all’Arctic Race of Norway, breve corsa a tappe organizzata dall’Aso, giunta alla terza edizione. Dal 13 al 16 agosto, ventidue squadre, di cui molte di prima fascia, si confronteranno nel territorio scandinavo per aggiudicarsi la corsa già promossa a Hors Categorie. Nelle due precedenti edizioni disputate, vittorie per Thor Hushovd (2013), ora ambasciatore dell’evento, e Steven Kruijswijk (2014).

DIRETTA TV. Diretta televisiva garantita per l’Arctic Race 2015. Sarà Eurosport a trasmettere ogni giorno, dalle ore 17, le quattro tappe in programma.

PERCORSO. Quattro le tappe, come già ricordato, e 700 chilometri in totale. La prima di 210 km, si snoderà nella città di Harstad e, nonostante uno strappo di 700  metri al 6.5% posto a 5 km al termine, sarà probabilmente terreno per i velocisti. Evenskjer – Setermoen (155.00 km) la seconda frazione, caratterizzata da una parte centrale molto mossa, con quattro GPM, ma da un finale ancora piuttosto facile e adatto agli sprinter.

Arrivo in salita nella Senja – Målselv (175.00 km), con un finale su una rampa a 375 metri d’altitudine, 3.7 km di lunghezza al 7.8%: sarà la tappa che presumibilmente deciderà la classifica generale. Si chiuderà il quarto giorno con la frazione in linea di 160 km nella città di Narvik, con un finale in circuito ove è posta la Skistua Summit (2.3 km al 6.6%) che, a soli 6 km chilometri al traguardo, potrebbe favorire qualche azione o comunque scremare il gruppo. STARTLIST. Delle 22 squadre al via, sette appartengono al WorldTour, con pezzi da novanta pronti a giocarsi chanches di vittoria. Non sarà al via il campione uscente Kruijswijk, ma sarà presente l’idolo di casa, il vicecampione Alexander Kristoff (Katusha), che in un percorso con tre tappe mediamente facili, può lottare per la vittoria se saprà tener duro nella terza e più impegnativa frazione.

Norvegese è ancora uno dei maggiori contendenti, Edvald Boasson Hagen (MTN Qhubeka), mentre altri nomi caldi sono quelli di Ben Hermans (Bmc), il recente vincitore a Burgos Rein Taramae (Astana), Linus Gerdemann (Cult Energy), Mathias Frank (IAM Cycling), Louis Meintjes (MTN Qhubeka) e Ilnur Zakarin (Katusha), che dovrà però lasciare la scena al vincitore della Sanremo ’15. Non lottaranno per la generale, ma Bryan Coquard (Europcar) e Gerald Ciolek (MTN Qhubeka) sono da tenere in considerazione per i successi parziali.

Capitolo italiani. Daniele Ratto (Unitedhealtcare) appare uno dei più idonei per aspirare ad un buon piazzamento finale, mentre Niccolò Bonifazio e Davide Cimolai (Lampre-Merida) e Alessandro Bazzana (UnitedHealthcare) quelli per le singole tappe.
