Anteprima Het Nieuwsblad 2020: percorso, startlist, orari tv

Unanimemente considerata l’inizio della grande stagione ciclistica, la Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2020 – in programma sabato 29 febbraio – continuerà a svolgerà questa onorevole funzione anche in virtù dello status di WorldTour assegnatole dall’Uci sin dalla scorsa stagione.

Tanti i campioni capaci di trionfare in questa prova conosciuta per anni come Het Volk: nell’albo d’oro figurano i nomi dell’onnipresente Eddy Mercks, dell’indimenticato Franco Ballerini, del recordman di vittorie Peter Van Petegem (tre successi per lui), di Greg Van Avermaet, vincitore di due recenti edizioni e di Zdenek Stybar, il campione uscente.

Settantuno le edizioni già disputate, eppure in sole quattro occasioni gli atleti italiani sono stati capaci di trionfare: il già citato Franco Ballerini, Michele Bartoli, Filippo Pozzato e Luca Paolini, ultimo azzurro ad alzare le braccia al cielo nel 2013.

 Immutate la partenza da Gand fissata e l’arrivo a Ninove, immutato anche il chilometraggio di 200 km, caratterizzato da tredici cotes e nove tratti in pavé.

Tra i punti focali, l’accoppiata Haaghoek e Leberg, che saranno ripetuti per ben tre volte. Cruciale anche il Molenberg, collocato dopo due chilometri e mezzo del pavé di Mater (ben due chilometri e mezzo) e a soli 40 km alla conclusione, più vicina rispetto al passato. Nel finale, poi, ecco il Berendries, il Geraardsbergen (o Grammont) ed il Bosberg: dagli ultimi strappi al traguardo, poco più di dieci chilometri che risulteranno decisivi per decretare il vincitore.
