Anteprima Tour de Vendée 2016

Si disputerà domenica 2 ottobre il Tour de Vendée 2016, corsa in linea fondata nel 1972 da Maurice Martineau. Sarà la 36^ edizione: le prime quattro furono riservate ai dilettanti; poi, con l’apertura agli élite, si assistette ai successi di numerosi velocisti, dal lettone Jaan Kirsippu, che con quattro vittorie è il recordman della corsa, all’ex iridato Thor Hushovd.

Attualmente inserita nel calendario Uci Europe Tour come evento di categoria 1.1, vanta due soli acuti italiani: Marco Antonio Di Renzo nel 1988 e Marco Marcato nel 2011. Il campione uscente è il francese Christophe Laporte.

 Ci troviamo in Vandea, dipartimento francese situato nella regione dei paesi della Loira. In questa fetta di territorio bisogna affrontare 203 km con partenza da Fontaines e arrivo a La Roche Sur Yon. È un tracciato che non presenta notevoli difficoltà altimetriche e che dunque si presenta favorevole ai velocisti.

Dopo lo start, si attraverseranno Fontaine Le Comte, Mervent, La Châtaigneraie, Pouzauges, St Michel Mont Mercure e Monsiregne. Transitati per la prima volta sulla linea del traguardo, comincerà un circuito di 3.9 km da percorrere per tre volte, al termine delle quali sarà decretato il vincitore. In basso la planimetria della gara.

 Quindici formazioni a prendere parte al Giro di Vandea 2016, tra cui le francesi Ag2R La Mondiale e FDJ a rappresentare il WorldTour. Nessun team italiano al via.

Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis), già vincitore tre anni fa, si presenta ai nastri di partenza col dichiarato obiettivo di vincere. L’altro sprinter transalpino Bryan Coquard (Direct Energie) appare il maggior concorrente. Occhio anche a Samuel Dumoulin (Ag2R La Mondiale), Carlos Barbero (Caja Rural-RGA), Thierry Hupond (Delko Marseille-Provence KTM), Romain Feillu (HP-BTP Auber 93).

In caso di attacchi, gli uomini più pericolosi sembrano essere Thomas Voeckler (Direct Energie), Johan Le Bon (FDJ), Miguel Angel Benito (Caja Rural-RGA). Due gli italiani presenti: Simone Antonini (Wanty-Groupe Gobert) e Devid Tintori (Team Differdange – Losch).
